Who we are

B88 Radio is an independent music discovery platform. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account basics: display name, email address, password (hashed), date of birth.
• Phone number (optional): provided by you on the Phone Verification page to unlock in-app privileges. We use it once for verification; we never send marketing SMS.
• Profile content: handle, bio, avatar, genre tags, city, website, custom theme settings.
• User-generated content: audio tracks, gallery images/videos, message board posts, comments, messages, event details.
• Usage data: tape plays, dubs, follows, and other actions needed to run the platform. Access logs and basic technical info (IP address, browser, device type).

How we use it

• Run your account and the tape-passing mechanics (seeding, dubbing, playback, notifications).
• Verify identity to reduce spam and abuse (email verification, optional phone verification).
• Process payments for subscriptions, paid reseeds, and PRO fees.
• Enforce our terms, respond to reports, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data. We do not serve third-party advertising. We do not share data with analytics or marketing vendors.

Third-party services

To operate B88 Radio we rely on a small number of vendors. They only receive the specific data needed for their job:

• Twilio — sends SMS verification codes when you provide a phone number.
• Stripe — processes payments and subscription billing.
• Cloudflare R2 — stores uploaded audio, images, and video.
• SHLabs — scans uploaded audio for AI-generated content when artists opt in to the Certified Organic program.
• Hostinger — hosts the application server and database.
• bunny.net — proxies web fonts so your browser does not request fonts directly from Google.

SMS terms

Phone verification is opt-in. The only SMS B88 Radio sends is a one-time numeric verification code, triggered when you click "Send code" on the Phone Verification page. We do not send marketing, promotional, or recurring messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile phone numbers collected for verification are used solely to send a one-time verification code and are not sold, rented, or disclosed to any third parties, except Twilio, our SMS delivery provider, which processes the message on our behalf. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties.

Reply STOP to any message to block further SMS from the sending number. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier. Message frequency varies based on your actions.

How long we keep data

We keep account and content data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your personal profile and content promptly, except where we need to keep limited records for legal, tax, or abuse-prevention purposes.

Your rights

You can:

• See and edit your profile data from your account settings.
• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Correct inaccurate data.

Children

B88 Radio is not for children under 13. Accounts require a date of birth and we block registration for anyone younger. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will remove it.

Cookies

We use a first-party session cookie to keep you logged in, and a CSRF cookie for security. We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies.

Security

Data is sent over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We follow standard practices to protect against unauthorized access, but no online service is perfectly secure.

Changes to this policy

When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for significant changes, notify active users via email.
